Dobbins Inn Hotel, Restaurant and Bar is located in the heart of Carrickfergus just a short journey from the centre of Belfast. The hotel has 15 bedrooms with complimentary WIFI, a public bar with lounge, small meeting/ conference room and the 70 seater Landings restaurant Dobbins is ideally located at the beginning of the world famous Causeway Coastal Route and 20 minutes from the main Airports and Ferry Ports. The building is steeped in history and folklore dating back to the 13th Century and is a family run Inn situated right in the heart of Carrickfergus town centre. Dobbins is one of Ireland’s oldest pubs steeped in history and oozing character, offering a great atmosphere, real coal burning fire, "craic", quality service and top class food. With a central location (including ample street parking) there is much to see and do on the hotels doorstep. The famous Castle and St Nicholas Church are within a five minute stroll of the hotel, whilst the recently reopened Gobbins Coastal Path is just a 10 minute drive away. The newly opened Railway Museum at Whitehead is also only 10 minutes drive away. Golfing and angling which are popular activities in the borough, can be arranged at various locations by enquiring at reception. Dobbins Inn is also a perfect base to explore the many unique attractions around the North Coast of Northern Ireland. We are located just a two minute walk from Carrickfergus Railway Station which offers a frequent train service to Belfast City Centre. All bedrooms are en suite complete with TV, telephone, complimentary WI-FI and tea/coffee making facilities. It has its own public bar with regular entertainment. Our recently refurbished Landings restaurant seats up to 70 people. It is the perfect venue for small weddings, family get togethers or just to dine in a beautiful atmosphere. Dobbins is said to be home to the ghost of Elizabeth Dobyn (now known as "Maud"). She is said to wander the hotel in search of her fallen lover.
